Any other Mamas on here planning on NOT finding out your bub's gender?

Question

My hubby and I have elected NOT to find out our baby's gender at our anatomy ultrasound next week. Both my mother and sister have given me a fair bit of grief over this and we've heard mixed opinions from different people. What are your plans? If you're not finding out, do you feel less prepared? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Pregnancy and birth are all about mom and baby... seeing the gender first was Dad's special part. He got to look and then tell me what we had... I will never forgot him looking at me with tears in his eyes and saying "WE HAVE A DAUGHTER!!!!" It was seriously one of the top two most amazing moments of my life. The emotion between us in that moment was unexplainable. We would never find out the gender after experiencing that!

We're not finding out. It makes no difference to us, and I have no problem with dressing my child in pink or blue regardless of societal gender norms. I get why people want to know, but a healthy baby is more important than a gendered baby. Anyway, they might change their mind about their assigned gender when they get older 😉

we didn't find out with our first two children together, and weren't planning on finding out with this one either, but the baby had other plans and was spread eagle during the ultrasound... There was no NOT seeing HIS package.😒

I think it's great when people can wait but that is just NOT my personality. I'm a planner and also not the type to go for gender neutral anything. If baby had been a girl EVERYTHING would have been pink. Since he's a boy, everything is blue and sporty. It would be a great moment to wait and find out though I'm sure!

So at first we weren’t going to find out this is baby number 3 and we have 2 girls already. Then I decided I really wanted to know and so did my husband so we went and found out it’s a boy. What makes it so special is when we told my grandpa we were naming him after him he was so excited and it brought a ton of joy to him and my grandma during a time they needed it so no regrets at all. Maybe next baby will be our surprise baby.

We’re too excited not to find out, and we want to customize nursery for the baby too. We have family and friends that never found out and it was just as exciting the day of delivery!

my husband and I found out what we were having with our first baby but we didn’t tell anyone !! I actually thought it was pretty fun being the only two who knew 😊 pregnant now with baby #2 and this time we’re not planning on finding out at all ! do whatever you guys want to do ! I know so many people that have decided to not know the gender and it made the delivery even more exciting.

We have decided not to find out as well. We are very excited about our decision despite most everyone getting really upset and trying to pressure us into finding out. They claim it's "boring" and "no fun for them" and that I "won't get anything" at my baby showers. I'm just really tired of the negativity and wish that mainly my family would be more supportive of our decision. But... it is what it is and this is our child. We are the parents and we have decided that this is what we want regardless of people being excited for us or not.
