IUD + Rectum?

has anyone’s rectum hurt after their IUD insersation? I just got mine this morning and I feel like I have to poo but I don’t. I feel pain in my rectum and I’m cramping from the IUD so I’m alittle confused

I wish my dr and friends told me the truth about my IUD insertion. They said I would have light cramps. I literally thought I was going to die. and I had the sensation to poop. I had it done Friday afternoon and I'm still having that sensation and cramps.

Your bowels and your sexual organs are all in your pelvic floor. When you experience cramping in your uterus and ovaries it’s caused by hormones called prostaglandins. They are what causes contractions for periods, labor, etc. Sometimes when there’s a lot of prostaglandins they go to nearby areas in your pelvic floor and cause contractions of other organs. A common area is your bowels- that’s why some women have diarrhea or are super gassy during their period. When I got my iud originally I was cramping a loooot because my uterus was confused by the thing inside of it and tried to contract it out and I also had some bowel pain. It’ll get better I promise. 👌🏼
