How do I get my baby to sleep on her own?

My little one is 3 weeks old. She will sleep if she’s being held or next to me but the second I place her in the swing of crib or co sleeper she wakes up. I’d like to be able to set her down and get things done and still let her sleep.. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

I let mine cry it out a little. I would lay down next to her, rub her belly, talk, sing. She hated her swing until she turned 1m.lI did the same with her in the swing as well. When she was in her bassinet I would first sit down and rub her belly, then get up and start doing things and keep talking/singing to her. Music helped as well. They are little and need their mommy. But i had no help and had to do stuff around the house. She got “used” to it and it all worked out well. It was my experience and i hope noone goes attacking me for that. Everyone is different!!! It's normal for her to want to be close to you, research the 4th trimester... invest in a carrier and enjoy the snuggles

Warm bath, food coma, and swaddled. That's what I have to do with my son. Sometimes i have to have him cry it out before I start the process though.

Read "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". It changed my life. Similar to Babywise but a lot more practical.

You should look into babywise. following that 87% of babies are sleeping 8-10 hours per night in their crib by 8 weeks. You can find info about it online or read the book. 
Not saying it’s magic or the only way that works (may not work for some) but I think it has some really good advice.
