Clomid or Metformin?

Just wanted yalls opinion! I have PCOS and my Doctor put my on Metformin. I have been on it a month and I wonder if I’m even ovulating. He did say we could try Clomid if I don’t have any luck on Metformin. Have y’all tried these? Which one did you get pregnant one?

Metformin, in and of itself, isn't a fertility drug, but it can improve insulin resistance and some other PCOS symptoms. Clomid, on the other hand, is specifically a medication for inducing ovulation. I'd suggest staying on Metformin (since it has other benefits for PCOS), and then if you aren't ovulating, add Clomid to the mix. 😊 Good luck!

I took Metformin for 4-5 months pcos was gone insulin levels returned to normal and i dropped all the weight that i gained and couldn't get rid of just from those few months of taking metformin. I still didnt get pregnant until i started taking baby aspirin 85mg found out i was pregnant the next month.

metformin made me so sick... diarrhea and nausea and stomach cramps... but i wanted to get pregnant so i stayed on it over a year. It also gave me panic attacks... i didn't figure that out until i stopped taking it and the panic suddenly stopped. Clomid didn't help me ovulate but Letrozole has been my miracle drug for both pregnancies.

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, but have been struggling with having a period once a year. I'm 21 now. my doc gave me metformin 1000 mg a day, been on it a week an I'm starting to spot now an it's slimy to. not sure if that means I'm ovulating or just about to have a period.

Wondering if anyone with PCOS was told this: Clomid doesn't work for those with PCOS, letrozole/femara is the way to go to make you ovulate.
That's what I was told by my specialist and she's not even going to try Clomid she said I most likely wouldn't respond to it.

I was given 1,000mg 2x a day of Metformin & was told to try for 6 months. If it didn’t work my doctor would start me on Clomid!

Girl tell him to give you both! I can’t ttc until March 2018 but my doctor told me it was ok for me to use both the clomid and metformin
