Parents don't agree with my nephew being placed with us

I'm trying to explain to my nephew's parents that him being placed with me and my husband is better than foster care. They're trying to refuse placement because we live 122 miles away (one way), which "messes up their visits." They only want him to be with us if I can go all the way to them three times a week.

I'm going to try to work with the case worker about this and hopefully, DCF will see it the same way we do. I feel like they're being selfish, but I'm worried that our efforts will go to waste. We just want to protect him. 😔
