Should I lose my virginity?

So over thanksgiving break, my friend will be coming home from college. Well, he’s kind of more than a friend but we’ve never been officially together. I’m a senior and he’s a freshman in college. We’ve loved each other for over a year. We plan on seeing each other when he comes home and I have a feeling something will happen. I’m emotionally ready to have sex and I love him and he loves me, but is it okay to have sex with him even though we’re not together? Or should we not go all the way?
