Offensive or not really?

Question

I've been seeing some videos going around on social media with women having gender reveal parties. And on every single one of those videos all of these women had something in common. They want to have either a boy or girl but end up finding out their having the complete opposite of what they originally wanted. So when the gender is revealed they pout and cry because it's not what they wanted. Now coming from someone who struggles to have kids all together, im very offended. Do you all find it offensive that they act in such a childish manner?

Gender disappointment is a thing ya know 🙄 I want a girl so bad and I know for a fact I'll be disappointed if it's a boy. Does it mean I won't love my son? Absolutely not! People need to stop taking everything so far up the ass 🙄

I find it offensive when women are told they aren't allowed, or shouldn't feel their very valid, and personal feelings because someone else's issues that have nothing to do with them.

Gender disappointment is completely normal.  I specifically didn't do a gender reveal because I wanted a girl so badly,  I knew I'd struggle to put a smile on straight away if it was a boy.  Hormones are going crazy,  and it doesn't mean they aren't happy to have a child.  It can just take a while to adjust.  So no,  I don't think it's offensive 😕

No it's not ok to be offended. Jealous perhaps, but those people announcing are allowed to have their own reactions and emotions, too. Besides, most social media posts involve YOU watching them of your own volition. Don't want to know? Keep scrolling.

Everyone has an idea and dream of the gender of their baby. When you’re pregnant you’re so emotional you can’t help but cry. I’ve cried over the most ridiculous things. If I had my heart set and gut feeling I was having a baby girl and found out I was having a boy (or the other way around) I would probably cry too. Stop Mom shaming moms to be. They’re not doing it to offend you and they’re honestly probably upset and embarrassed that the videos are circulating the internet.

I don't think it's offensive but kinda childish.. Like I get you could be a little upset or taken back if you were expecting one gender, but I feel like that should quickly go away because you are still going to have a beauitiful baby and should be excited

It's their gender reveal party... if they have an idea on what gender they'd prefer and it's the opposite..  it's their baby so they have the right to cry about it 😂 everyone's different, and I'm sure they didn't put the videos up to cause offense.

I can kind of relate. 
When I was pregnant with my son, they told me I was having a girl. I had mentally prepared myself for a girl, picked out a name, bought all sorts of girly baby items and even decorated for a girl.
When he was born the nurse said, "my he's a big boy!" Through the delirium of the moment and my epidural, all I heard was the word, "he." I immediately started bawling and told his father, "I hate you!" 
Yeah, crazy right! 😳 I was just so emotional and weirdly concerned about not having baby clothes for my baby boy. Of course, I was thrilled to have a healthy baby and not at all disappointed that he was a boy and not a girl.
That said, these women weren't aware of the gender prior to the reveal, so I do think their reaction was a bit "off."

they're hormones are through the roof so yes they will be upset finding out they got the opposite but I'm pretty sure that won't make them love the child any less doesn't really make them childish

I don’t find it offensive, I think parents are allowed to have these feelings because they’re real. A lot of people feel that way even though some of them don’t show it. But I do think it’s unfortunate that some parents act children over it- you’re absolutely right there are too many people who are ttc and are having trouble who would kill for either gender. They should be grateful they’re blessed with a healthy child at all
