Hospital bag?!

Question

What are you guys packing for yourself and the baby?! I seriously don’t want to overpack at all. I’ve looked up plenty of lists on google and a lot of the items listed seem pointless, but I wouldn’t necessarily know because this is my first! What are you bringing? 😊

This is my second baby, never had one for my first as I was 5 weeks early!

• breast pads 
• pyjamas

• 5 sleepsuits
• pack of nappies 
• baby wipes 
• muslins
• hats 
• blanket 
• car seat (in car already)
Partner
• dressing gown 
• pyjamas 
• change 4 carpark
• phone charger

• swim shorts 
• boxers & socks
May seem a bit over board but my last labour was 20 hours so I know what to expect. Pack anything that will make you feel more relaxed and comfortable. Good luck 😊!

Just going home stuff for me and baby and chargers. Everything else they already had last time. Even tooth brush, hair brush etc. I brought a bunch of stuff last time and used none of it.

For me I packed some big shirts and loose pants just for comfort. Pjs and undies, hair brush, tooth brush and tooth paste, some pads and I think a sweater lol.
For baby I packed 2-3 outfits in case I can’t decide, his swaddle, socks, mittens and nail clippers because I don’t want him scratching him self! And one of his blankies and some hats!

I personally make sure i have my own night gown type dress for the hospital stay. That way i don’t have to wear the giant hospital gowns, i am more comfortable in my own. But you have to have an open bottom for them to check you- make sure your not clotting or bleeding out to much after delivery. Other than that.. socks or slippers for myself and what i will wear home and of course baby things (don’t worry to much about what you need for baby- the hospital has pretty much everything other than clothes so might as well use theirs while you are there). Hope this helps.

I work Labor and Delivery. All the time I see people basically moving in with all their stuff. My nurses I work with suggested to pick only what you will want. I got a new robe. Some warm socks. Underwear. Depends cause I hate pads. I’ll pack my phone charger last minute. And snacks. I also got some nursing tank tops for after as well. For my husband I’m packing comfy clothes and pjs. And for the baby I have a fuzzy blanket, 2-3 outfits, pacifiers, a swaddle or two, stuff like that.

the hospital I delivered in told me the things the baby would need....so basically New born clothes, diapers, baby might not have a bath so anything for bathing baby is not needed, pacifiers if you like but I never used it, bottles if u will formula feed, u need maternity pads, pajamas, nursing bras,  underwear, coming home outfit for u and baby, car seat, toiletries and towels...and anything u think u might need.
