Dating after a breakup?

Question

After being cheated on by my last two long term boyfriends, I think I rather die alone than to get in a relationship and be hurt again. I also personally don’t know of a guy who has always been 100% faithful including the men in my family.
I really don’t trust men and I really don’t see myself getting into it with anyone, not even just for sex.
I think I’ll be perfectly happy alone and adopt. 
Has anyone ever felt like this and gotten over it?

My sister felt this way a while back.  She called me and expressed all those things.  She wanted me to tell my family members to stop asking her about "special people" because she was DONE.  She still had some very casual flings but it was casual both ways.  Anyways 2 years after she said she was done one of those casual flings introduced her to her current BF.  They just got back from a 3 month European vacation, they talk about getting married, he is perfect for her.  I don't think that would happen for everyone necessarily but I think learning to be okay alone helped her find the right person. I think that time was amazing for her to learn more about herself and who was compatible for her.  I hope this response doesn't feel  trite, just sharing  her experience.
