How long were you ttc before going to IVF?

I don’t know much about IVF but we have been ttc for 4 month now (seems like forever) with no luck at all. I’m trying to get information on who has done IVF, how long you were ttc, and if it worked. Any and all opinions and options welcome! Thanks in advance!

If you are under 35 most fertility doctors won't see you unless you have been TTC for a least a year unless you already have fertility issues like PCOS, endo, low sperm count, or if you had cancer treatment something like that. Over 35 then they will usually see you after 6 months. 
There are a lot of steps and procedures before IVF. Which is good because IVF is around $25,000. There are a lot of tests that can be done and your doctor might try some medications and hormone treatments first. Keep in mind only some of this will be covered by insurance. For example my insurance decided not to cover a consultation with my OB/GYN because the appointment was just to talk about the a medicated IUI cycle.

We tried a year before we went to get checked. First I got all my test done which came back me having cysts in my ovaries so had to have them removed, then once I recovered we carried on trying still no luck then hubby got his semen checked, we found out his sperms Wer not very good quality ect so we both completely changed our diet excersised cut out junk, fizzy drinks ect m, still no luck so they referred us to the ivf clinic. This was like going on for 6years+! 
We did one cycle of ivf (ICSI) it wasn't successful first time so tried again and we are now 32 weeks pregnant ❤️😀 he's our miracle baby and so worth the wait, can't wait to meet him in December X 
All I would say to u is normally u have to try for a year before the doctors will do anything but just go anyway and say you've been trying for more than a year 😉 X also two years ago I was diagnosed with pcos so that made it difficult as I didn't no if I ovulated or not X
