If you don’t have other children, the middle is always safest.

I have 3 kids. The youngest is in the middle of the backseat, the second youngest (still in a booster seat) is behind the passenger seat, and the oldest (out of carseats) is behind the driver.

The manual in my car recommends the middle of the backseat or behind the passenger. Since I have two other children it’s easier to have it behind the passenger seat instead of climbing over the booster seats.

My son sits behind my husband who is the driver since he front faces our daughter is behind me she cant go behind the driver her seat sticks out too far and my husband has long legs we tried one time and that was the day she came home his knees were about touching the steering wheel and his chest was over it
