Spotting? Period? Something else?

I wear panty liners most day because while I do use birth control (the patch) I don’t really realize when my period is till I go to put on the next patch and there’s not another. Anyways, I noticed about 2 days ago, today marks day 3 I’ve had uterine cramps, and there’s been a little bit of blood on the panty liner and not in the toilet like with my period and it’s very little blood but still when it’s happening and it’s not supposed to it’s kinda scary. I removed my patch on Wednesday of last week and put it on Saturday because I got busy with Work, School and other stuff. Could it be my period, or spotting?

(I’ve never had spotting before; and normally with my periods I have abdominal cramps not uterine cramps. I have also not been sexually active, so I know it’s not implantation bleeding like google keeps saying.)
