Treats for BF/Pumping momma’s!

Na

I figured I’d share a couple of recipes I have on hand to help all BF/pumping mommas that may be struggling with their supply or just want those extra ounces! 😉

Eat 2 treats (cookies & bites) with each breastfeeding/pumping session to start and modify your intake based on results!

P.s - I have started eating these treats and have definitely seen an increase! But again everyone’s body is different so it may work for me but not for the next person, unfortunately.

Recipe for lactation cookies:

Makes approx. 14-16 cookies using a tablespoon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

• 1 cup self raising whole meal flour (if you have plain flour, add 1/2 tsp of baking powder)

• 1/2 cup butter (can also use organic virgin coconut oil instead)

• 3/4 cup brown sugar (if you want to reduce sugar, could try 1/2 cup)

• 2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal

• 1 egg

• 2-3 tablespoons of water (depends if you like moister cookies)

• 1 tablespoon vanilla (optional for flavor)

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional for flavor)

1-2 tablespoons of brewers yeast (DO NOT substitute with bakers yeast or any other yeast, brewers yeast is the main ingredient that makes them work)

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1 & 1/2 cups oats (thicker cut/original cut oats if you can)

Bake for 10-12 minutes depending on how well cooked you like your cookies and you can always add more brewers yeast and flax seed just make sure you increase the water to match. Add a tablespoon of water for each tablespoon of flax seed meal.

No bake lactation bites:

• 1 cup oats (steel cut/or old fashioned)

• 1/2 cup flaxseed meal

• 2 tablespoons of brewers yeast

1/2 cup peanut butter (can substitute almond butter)

• 1/2 cup honey

• 2 teaspoons vanilla

• 1 cup shredded coconut (optional)

• 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

• mix all dry ingredients together

• stir together the peanut butter, honey and vanilla

• add in the dry ingredients

• stir in the chocolate chips and shredded coconut

• let chill in the refrigerator for 1 hr

• form into balls. You can flatten them into more of a cookie shape if you would like...

• store then in the refrigerator or freezer in an air tight container (freezer works best)

HAPPY PUMPING!!
