Dating my best friend...HELP

So I have been best friends with this guy for about 5 years. I finally worked up the courage to ask him how he felt about us. We already acted like a couple so I was getting mixed signals and so I just put it all on the table. He was totally on board. (You see he’s not very outgoing and hasnt been in a serious relationship so I’m having to be the one to put myself out there) Even though he makes me so happy I feel as though nothing has changed in the past month when we began dating. We’re still like best friends but there’s not much romance in our relationship. I don’t know if it’s just because he doesn’t know what he’s doing when it comes to relationships and he’s a little awkward. Or it could be that he doesn’t see me in a romantic way. We spend a lot of time together but he doesn’t try and ‘make a move’ like ever. I am one of those people that want physical contact but he isn’t. We haven’t kissed yet and he rarely holds my hand. What do I do?
