PCOS but good news
So...
I had my follow up today. Officially diagnosed with PCOS as my insulin levels were almost 29. I have regular cycles, but may or may not be ovulating. I will be on a low carb/sugar diet and will begin to take Metformin 500mg twice daily. My Doctor said that he is very confident that I will fall pregnant following these steps given. I go back in February for another follow up and will talk more about medications depending on how much weight I have lost. He mentioned Clomid and something else (I don’t remember the name) and possibly adipex to boost my metabolism. Although I was upset that I have officially been diagnosed, him telling me that his is fully confident I will be pregnant soon made me feel so much better.
So, my questions for you ladies:
1) How did you tolerate Metformin? What steps did you take to help your body tolerate it more? What dosages are you on?
2) Has taking Metformin helped regulate your insulin levels? Has it made you ovulate?
3) Success stories with PCOS?
4) Diet tips? Recipes? Motivations? Etc?
Thank you
