Been TTC for 5 years.
So I just wanted to share an update on our journey. I hope it helps someone out there that has been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. So it turns out it wasn’t unexplained. I finally had an MRI done and they found that I had fibroids that were growing into my uterus from the top and bottom taking up most of the space. They were somehow missed in all the ultrasounds I’ve had and all the other fertility test. I’ve even had surgery 3x to remove polyps. I know ultrasound images are difficult to see and not all doctors see the same thing. It took 4 different doctors to finally request an MRI and they finally found something preventing us from getting pregnant. So I had a robotic myomectomy 2 weeks ago and while they were in there they also found that I had endometriosis all over so they removed that too. I’ve had heavy periods most my life and severe cramping. I’ve always mentioned to doctors that I felt like I had endometriosis but they always told me I didn’t for some reason. Well I DID!!!! It is such a common thing, I don’t know how it was missed all these years. So I’m so happy that we still have a chance at TTC on our own. We’ve done 4 IUI in the past and now we know why they didn’t work. All the fertility doctors we’ve seen recommended IVF but it would have never worked with my fibroids and endometriosis I had. I’m so GLAD we didn’t do it. Please please please ask and make sure all testing is done before jumping into IUI or IVF. It’s a big money maker and I feel like they jump into it too fast without knowing all the answers first. So now we wait. Hopefully in a few months we can report the best news of our life. Been married almost 15 years. My husband is active duty Air Force and I’m a Dental Hygienist. We are so ready to be parents.
