Tricks to getting baby to sleep in bassinet?

Does anyone have any tips and tricks to help their baby sleep in their bassinet during the night? 
My son will only sleep if he’s being held or if he’s in the car.  I end up staying up all night and sleeping in short bursts during the day but I need actual sleep

Yeah I’d say try to swaddle. My LO loves it and he’s 4.5 months old and still gets swaddled for bedtime since he isn’t quite rolling over yet.

Swaddling! It helped my baby for the first 2 weeks of her life then she started breaking out of it but she still sleeps in there with her little arms out and loves it 😊

My son wouldn't sleep in his bassinet we tried for 2 weeks and finally I just put him in his crib in his room and it worked. he is now almost 11 months old and still going strong lol

put a heating pad in his bed wait until its warmed up the bed and then turn it off and lay him down.

Swaddling helps do much with this!

White noise, put  baby in it and start vacuuming or use a hair dryer for about 10minutes.  If that works you can download one of the many apps that play white noise music to help babies sleep. The fussy newborn twin I nanny for will go from fussy to snoozing everytimeI have to vacuum. I've  heard the apps work,  I just haven't used them myself yet.
