Call the cops or?

About 6-7 months ago or so, we moved out of my moms house because she’s crazy. We left in a hurry and we had to leave behind our $2000 treadmill, our $200 punching bags, some of my husbands military stuff, and ALOT of baby stuff for our daughter. Ever since then, she won’t let us come get our stuff. She just stopped replying. Come to find out, she’s trying to sell everything online. I’m not sure if this is a police matter or not. She gave my brother his military stuff he NEEDED, who then sold it for drugs. She also gave him our weight bench and again, he sold it for drugs. She says that she didn’t sell anything and it’s all there but when I ask about picking it up, she just stops replying. 
I don’t think the police can do anything because it’s like a civil problem but who should I contact? I just want to get our stuff back, then file a restraining order against her.
Edit: I’ve never posted about this, so not sure what y’all are talking about.

That's considered property abandonment, and the police won't do anything for you. Shouldn't have left your stuff 🤷‍♀️

It won't hurt to call them, but of course call the non emergency line and see what they may suggest.

I remember you writing a post about this awhile ago. If you haven’t settled this issue by now, my best advice is letting it go already. I think by not talking to her and getting away from her is better than doing a police report. Plus if it’s been a month you left and didn’t get your stuff she can do whatever she wants with it .

Yeah, I would go to the cops and reported all stolen. Tell them that she won't let you come and get it and you want to report it all stolen.

They will likely tell you they can't do anything about it but that you could take her to court.

I mean for sure the military stuff would be an issue as its government property. Not sure about everything else but id say its worth a shot

You'll most likely have to go to court. You'll need proof it's yours and save all communication that you've tried to get it back. If you have proof that she gave your brother your stuff and he sold it then you'll be able to be reimbursed for that as well. Good luck! I'm sorry you're having to go through this.
