My boyfriend agreed to let me have my puppy and he doesn’t like that she is very playful around him but calm around me. He suggested that we give her up and get a cat because it’s less work and that pissed me off really bad because I had a cat that I had to give up because I moved in with my brother. Now me and my boyfriend live together, I am still very emotional about that. Should I be mad or should I just train her more to be calm with him. I would love too have more pets but I’m not giving her up for anyone. What should I say to him or do ???

Buuuutttt.... maybe train your boyfriend how to care for the puppy ..
the puppy is asking for attention and he isnt giving her any so she is craving it and trying to get his attention by acting out .

Maybe you need to teach him how to behave around your puppy and help him establish dominance when he's around so that she learns to calm down around him.

Work on training first. Puppies are a lot of work and a big commitment but he shouldn't have agreed to it if he wasn't sure. 
And cats aren't always less work. We have one cat and two dogs. The cat knocks things off tables (like a big glass vase, cups of water, etc), stole our wedding rings once, and is not easy to "train". He's also cost us hundreds in medical bills.
Our dogs are a breeze for the most part now, but took a while to train.

Sounds like he doesn't know how to respond or deal with a dog hence her behavior. He needs the training. Never get rid of your pup!

You should both participate in puppy training sessions.  Puppies take at least a year to not be wildings. If he insists of getting rid of the dog, I would get rid of the bf before a pet. You made a commitment to the animal, they are not disposable. 
Cats are also just as much work. I went through a phase were my cat urinated on everything and spent thousands on clothes and furniture. Today, 1 of my cats took a dump the rug and living room floor because we forgot to leave his basement open (litter boxes are there). I didn’t noticed and tracked shit all over the house. I had to put my toddler in his highchair and pick up shit everywhere, remove the rug, move furniture,  go upstairs and clean shit from every step on the carpet. I ended up throwing my decorative rug and the shoes because its impossible to remove the poop smears.  I had to disinfect mop the house and with Lysol wipes go up every step and scrub the carpet. This was all right after breakfast. Neither pet is easy, you don’t really know what you end up with. Also, it’s easier to pooper scoop a yard with a tool vs cleaning litter boxes weekly.
