Evening primrose oil at 37 weeks ?

I wanted to know if i could or is it safe to take evening primrose oil capsules at 37 weeks to help soften the cervix ? Advice ?

I just had this discussion today with ny midwife.  I'm also 37 weeks.  She recommends evening primrose oil but told me it's a personal decision.  She mentioned small studies that showed it may lead to your water breaking earlier.  I'm not sure yet if I'm going to use it or not

I started taking it orally at 34 weeks and inserting it at 35 weeks. I'm now 36+3 and when I get to 37 I'm going to up my dosage.

I’m 36 weeks and my dr recommended 2 orally and 2 vaginally a day for me. But I’m also for sure not going to make it to my due date so that may be why.
