How does BBT work?? Anyone able to help me out with the whole BBT??

Hi! I’m 37 y/o and TTC #2 after almost 8 years with a Mirena IUD. I’ve been trying to track my bbt but I truly do not understand how it affects getting pregnant. I do it the same time every morning before I do anything. My numbers are all over the place. It’s very confusing! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you at in your cycle? And are you taking your temp at the same time every morning? Mine are more variable in the beginning of my cycle. But after ovulation you should see a more obvious pattern of generally higher temperatures. I use fertility friend ap for temping, as I like their chart features a little better. Here are screen shots of my charts. One from a full cycle (one I got pregnant on in 2015) and my current cycle (just ovulated yesterday). Hope maybe that helps you a little bit!
