Co sleeping with our 1 year old????

So my daughter slept in her crib in her own room from like 1 month old or something crazy. She's 15 months old now and for the past 3 months she's been in our bed! It started out that I would let her nap with me, then one day she got an ear infection and was super sick so we let her sleep with us at night for like 2 or 3 nights in a row to monitor her. It was pretty much downhill from there!!! For a little while we were letting her fall asleep with us and then taking her to her bed where she would sleep through the night but eventually she started waking up and realizing we were gone so she would freak out and end up back in our bed. So basically our sleep situation has totally regressed and we are 100% to blame because we both admitted to each other the other day that we both secretly love having our little stinker in bed with us 😩😭😩😩 Are we ruining her?!?? Or is it harmless? Opinions?

The vast majority of fhe world sleeps with their children. We are the odd ones out. There is nothing wrong with it.

Personally I think a lot of people lie when they say they don't let their baby sleep with them. Almost everyone I know lets their child sleep with them then try to get them in big girl/boy beds. I think people start out with them in their own bed but then something, like an ear infection, happens then next thing you know their in your bed. My son starts out in his bassinet but after his middle of the night feeding he ends up staying in bed. If its a problem for you, maybe start a slow transition like a small bed/mattress in your room then slowly get them back in their own bed. I don't see anything wrong, growing up I always remembered sleeping in my parents bed

I don’t necessarily think you’re damaging them but in my mind it’s a very horrible habit that’s I’d personally never want to start. Our daughter has slept in her own crib since day one and it’s very important to us that we keep it that way. I let her sleep in her rock n play for two nights when she had her first cold, but I absolutely put her right back in her crib once she was feeling better and stuck to it. She’s never slept in our bed either. Kids need consistency if you want them to get into good sleep habits. So if you want your one year old in their own bed then you need to start putting them there and stick to it.
