One income? How?

Mermaid Momma 🧜🏻‍♀️ • Mama of three 💙💞💙

So my husband and I both work full time right now and are trying for our first baby the beginning of 2018.

I want to be able to stay home with baby since the cost of day care would basically be most of my salary, but he's insisting that there is "no way" we can live off of his income alone...how can I show him differently? By going over our budget with him, etc??

He makes a little over $75k a year and my salary is about $35k - we have a house payment, and just general bills to pay (utilities, cell phone, etc) thankfully we do not have debt. I should mention though we do live in a particularly expensive area of southern CA, so cost of most things is a little bit more expensive than other areas - we're settled in our house here so def not considering moving (all our family is here too so we want to be close to family).

He wants me to be able to stay home too but then he says I need to still make at least $25k - $30k somehow ... (🙄) I started a side business selling baby products on Amazon to make extra income from but it's not going as planned so far :(

I know we CAN survive on his salary alone and I need to find a way to show him that?? But how ?? Just with showing budgeting ? Practicing living on one income ? Advice/ tips appreciated. Thank you.
