Getting off birth control

Can someone tell me how long it generally took them to gain a “normal” period after getting off the pill? I have been on the pill for like 8 years now ... and have been off it for only 4 months now. I am getting a period faithfully ever two weeks meaning as soon as it ends, a week later I get it again. It’s becoming quite frustrating and my gyno is giving me no answers besides “you have to regulate after getting off the pill.”
