Are you ever really READY for a child?👶🏻👶🏽👧🏽👧

Hey 👋🏽 peeps! I’m 36 and TTC my first child. Terrified I do not feel ready. I have no savings, I am in school working on my Master’s, working full time, and my boyfriend lives in the next city over so we aren’t even under the same roof. 
A part of me feels like I need to wait, the other part says if you wait you will be 50 TTC. So, are you ever really ready???

I was TTC for almost 5 years, SWORE up and down that I was born ready, that I was meant to be a mother, that I knew exactly what I was doing because I was around kids my whole life.
NO. Nope. No way. I was like two months in to having my own and I just kinda stopped and was like, “What in the actual land of fuck am I doing?”
My son is 16 months now and I still have no idea what is happening 90% of the time. Lol.

I would wait until you have your Masters. Pregnancy and parenting can bring a world of unforeseen problems.

I think the "unknown" makes everyone feel unprepared and you can never get rid of the unknown. You can still feel prepared but have a small factor of unpreparedness I find.

You  have about 10 months to get some savings,  when will you  be done with school?  The only thing i see as a problem,  is the  not being in the same town/same roof. You're  gonna want  him there to help emotionally  and physically.  But Not every  woman  feels "ready".  It's  normal.

I am not sure how else to ask this: why are you ttcing? Looks like you have so much going on for you that needs your immediate attention. I feel like when you bring baby into your life, ( rightfully so)you have to check yourself out the door. Your personal life literally goes on hold for a good 4-5 years.

I don't think anyone is really ready bc you don't fully grasp the change that will happen to your sense of self or life until you have the baby. That said it's best to try and ready your life, make it as stable as possible before you have a child. I wouldn't be trying to conceive if I were in the situation you describe, except for the age. That might make me want to do it. But I'd really want to be done with school and living in one place first.

Baby Dust to you!! I'm 41, SO is 42. We fell pregnant as a big surprise to both, but sadly had mmc in July. Now we are actually TTC. I often wonder if we are crazy at our age. Maybe we lost because it's not meant to be only time will tell. Baby Dust to you!

I'm currently two months pregnant and since I found out I have been terrified, emotional and feel really disconnected to the whole experience ... it's our first ultrasound today so I'm hoping it will make it more real and il feel more ready... but as of right now I can only speak for myself when saying that even though we were trying,I definitely don't feel ready...

If you and your boyfriend know you want kids together, maybe first just take the easy step of merging your lives. I can't say that anyone is ever totally ready, but it seems like there are some basic relationship adjustments you could make so that you and your boyfriend can show each other a commitment to becoming a family

Not to scare you, but I'm 34, about to be 35 3 days before my due date and I am labeled a 'geriatric pregnancy.' 😂😂😂 So no, you're never actually ready- or I wasn't, and yes, there is a biological clock. I say if you know you want kids you better get on it!
