Crib Bumper: Yes or No?

Question

Will you/do you use a crib bumper? Maybe drop baby’s age if you’d like! I’m debating whether or not to use one for my first baby!

No because they're widely condemned 😕 when fostering babies, foster parents can't even have a mesh lining bumper around the crib because of how dangerous they're deemed, so I'd rather not chance anything.

I use a mesh one. Tried not to use one but she kept getting her legs stuck in the bars.

I used the mesh ones after my daughter was actively crawling around. She kept getting her legs stuck in between the rails.

I used them and still do. When she started moving and rolling I took them out but she constantly hit her head, got her legs or arms stuck and just had fitful night's sleep for weeks so I put them back in. She sleeps in my room so I am constantly checking her. She is now almost 14 months old so I worry less now.

you increase your chances of SIDS by using a bumper. jury is out on the mesh ones. I wouldn't risk it.

I do foster care and they told me absolutely no bumpers I looked up what could happen and I guess babies are getting wrapped up in them and smothering themselves not really sure wouldn't take the ris

We have a mesh one around the crib. My son's a mover and a shaker, just check in on them, I have to pull mine back up because he'll stand in it when he's up. Half the time you're going to be waking up with them anyway.
