So I've been a bit of a snoop, but not on purpose!

Some background information: My boyfriend, J, and I have been together for 4 years this November. We're high school sweethearts, and our relationship has been one fiery, wild ride. He keeps me on my toes, being much more extroverted than I. We're both eccentric and passionate about similar things, and share similar values/beliefs. We aren't perfect, but we work hard at this.

He's landing a huge promotion this summer, and is almost finished with school. We plan on finally living together, just the two of us and our fur babies, this spring.

ANYWAY, back to the subject. We went to a friend's party this past Saturday and had an absolute blast (one of his other friends sort of ruined my whole night near the end-by trying to ruin my image of J?-, I'll get to that in the comments). So we have this incredible night, all innocence besides getting hammered/bonding with our friends.

LITERALLY, we were all up till 6am and up again at 11am or sooner.

That afternoon on Sunday we check in on his animals and family at home, and I saw a certain item on his dresser....

CAN I BE EXCITED WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY THAT I *MIGHT* KNOW?! We had a talk a week or so ago about promise rings and our future together in general. He would normally get nervous about stuff like this or just ignore it until I brought it up again. Even though, I must say, he has been incredibly passionate lately, more than normal.

He also has always felt comfortable talking about marriage and having children. We are also planning a romantic trip to Chicago for our anniversary next month, I really am keeping my fingers crossed! The companionship bond we share has been it's strongest this year, my breath is completely taken away.
