Glucose test can I say no??

Question

I'm 18 and 28 weeks never have I ever had diabetes I'm super healthy and don't want to be pinned and shit. I already have the drink from my last appointment and they told me to drink it an hour before my next appointment which is in 1-2 weeks. Can I say no to doing this

I’m healthy, always have been an athlete (played multiple sports, have ran multiple half marathons, etc) and normal weight. I work out at least 3 times and week and eat a healthy-ish diet (but in all honesty who couldn’t eat a littler healthier). I never had any health concerns and wouldn’t you know it with all that I still had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy (I take my three hour, which is 4 blood draws this week)! I was able to control it with my first and had a great delivery and healthy mom, healthy baby! Sucking it up for one blood test can save you from many complications that would involve some potentially serious issues later!

I NEVER had problems with my sugar until I was pregnant.... I wouldn't refuse it if I was you.. and if you're worried about getting poked, honey... you're about to have a baby.. when you go to have that baby, you're gonna get poked ALOT.

I wouldn't if I were you, wether or not you have had diabetes in the past you can get gestational diabetes during pregnancy that can really harm your baby if it goes untreated- the needles are worth it.

Gestational diabetes isn’t the same as norm diabetes- it’s hormone induced. It doesn’t matter how healthy you are going in, your hormones can still cause it

GD is caused by the placenta creating a hormone that causes diabetes during pregnancy. doesn't matter how healthy you are before. get tested. it's really easy. do it for your baby.

I did it my first time and refused this time. Fuck that. They said I could do some jelly bean test and that's what I'm doing. If you are healthy you know yourself best. You don't have to become another sheep in the flock. I wish someone would have told me that my first time around.

Not wanting to get your blood drawn isn't a reason not to have the test. You're housing another human and you owe it to them to make sure you're doing what you can to keep them healthy. It's really not that bad at all.

I wouldn’t. I’m 25 and very lean. I have always been healthy and never really had any issues. I have Gestational Diabetes. I was shocked but I feel better knowing. Pre-pregnancy health really doesn’t mean a whole lot after your pregnant. It’s a whole different ball game. Your body isn’t your own. Your insulin is now working for 2 people. In my case 3. It’s not a guarantee you will have a negative glucose test. It’s really not that bad though. If your levels are fine it’s just one stick.
