Is is bad to want a child while your a senior in high school?

I got pregnant my senior year of high school. I missed prom because it was the day I came home from the hospital with my baby. I didn't get to do all the fun senior stuff that everyone else did because I was pregnant. I didn't get to go college and live in the dorms after high school like I had always wanted to because I needed to get a job and support my baby. I moved out with my boyfriend way before I was ready to because I thought it was the right thing to do. I had to grow up way too fast in my teens and in turn effed up in my 20s and got in trouble because I didn't feel like I got to be a kid. All I'm saying is there's more to it than just having a beautiful baby to love on. It's hard every single day. While I wouldnt give up my oldest child for ANYTHING in the world, I know she would have had a better life had I just waited a little longer.

It's not bad to want the idea of a child but without the financial means and maturity it really isn't fair to actually bring a child into this world at that stage in a one's life. I had my first at 17 years old so I speak from experience.

You are still a child. You need to live your life before you even consider bringing another life into this world. Kids shouldn't raise kids.

It's definitely not ideal. Work on loving yourself, becoming the best you can be for a child, decide in a couple years. If you're in high school you don't even really know what the real world is about- you can have a job, and be more mature than most people your age, but you still have yet to know what it's like to live solely under your own authority, which can seem like all fun and games at first, but it gets real real, real quick. I think the best age to start considering- not having necessarily, just considering- is 21. It gives you a few years under your belt as an adult, you have some time to decide if you want to go to college or not, and you're giving your relationship time to grow further. Ultimately it's your body, do what you want- but consider the child's life, and how well you can truly provide not only financially, but emotionally. I had baby feverrrr when I was 18, I was in love, I wanted that feeling of motherhood- but I waited and I couldn't be more glad I did. Now at 25 I'm even more in love with my HS sweetheart, and I'm more than ready for a child, and I'm so so glad I experienced all the things I did with just me and my spouse- now we're fully ready to experience life with our child as well, the fun isn't ending it's only changing, and we're ready for that. 
You'll hear stories of women who did it, and loved it, but know those cases are more rare- many people don't stay together through teen pregnancies. Many teen mothers make sacrifice after sacrifice for their babies- and I commend them, I truly do, but many of them wouldn't suggest doing it their way. My sister starting having babies at 19, and she's said "I wish I had waited just a few more years, there's so much I had planned, I thought I was ready, but now I wish I had more time to have been myself without this struggle".

'want' is not wrong, but right now you gotta think about getting an education, having fun and try all the stuff you wanna do. children are a huge ass responsibility. I've always thought once you become a mother you live for your kid and not yourself. and honesty when we're young we're kinda selfish and not completely ready to put someone else before ourselves at everything

I have a great friend she got preg senior year it pretty much shocked everyone, the couple stayed together and now have 2 more kids, good jobs, and are homeowners- I know this only turned out this way bc they were both from good supportive families who helped them 100%. If you don't have plans to go the distance with your SO, including having stability at home, then probably not the best idea since your life will be taking a big 180°!

I mean I don’t think it’s bad. You’re a senior in high school. It’s time to live your life how you want to. Now for the other ppl who say she’s still a child and other crap. Worry about the 12 and 13 year olds who want a baby, don’t worry about a 17 or 18 year old who’s thinking about a baby.
