Help! Labor??

Question

I've had Braxton Hicks like crazy for a while now. At my appt today I was 3 cm dilated and she messed around a bit to maybe help things get started. So I'm laying in bed and I'm having what I'm guessing are contractions? they feel different from BH. It feels like period cramping. Happening about every 3 minutes. Is this real labor or no?

Does it feel like it's radiating all across your lower back? That's what it felt like for me. I times them for 30 minutes, and once they were regularly 2 minutes apart we left for the hospital.
