Fertility clinic experience??

Question

Anyone have experience going to one?  I'm so nervous I'll be pushed into ivf or something I can't afford.  My goal is just to get a proper pcos diagnoses and get on a medication that can help me ovulate.  
When I read reviews for this fertility clinic everyone talks about IVF and IUI!  Not a single person is like "yeah she put me on clomid and I got pregnant" which just makes me nervous.

I've been to 3 fertility clinics, and all three were great! None of them pushed me straight to IVF, they all started with my tests, and then started with meds. the first one we just realized we didn't have the money for treatments right then, and then we moved to a different state and started going to the 2nd one, then found out the 3rd one was in network, making insurance stuff easier. 
My main point is, if they try to get you to do IVF right away, be wary. Many people don't need it, and unless there's specific things in your test results, you should definitely be able to start with clomid or femara! If they're a good clinic, their goal is to get you pregnant for the least amount of cost to you.

If any Dr suggests IUI or IVF right away, find a new Dr! They're last resorts! There are many other things to try first. Also, definitely find out what your insurance covers! Most will cover the initial dx of pcos, but not infertility treatments! I used to work in health insurance and saw many people stuck with massive bills because they didn't know their procedure wouldn't be covered. If you know it's not covered, ask them what the options are for self pay accounts! Often, hospitals give discounts for self pay (I've seen up to 70% discount!) But they can only give these discounts if it doesn't run through your insurance!

My fertility clinic did a whole swackload of tests, and they said (even though I have PCOS) that the only “issue” I have is that I wasn’t ovulating. Now I am, and they haven‘ even mentioned IUI/IVF as an option yet. For most clinics, those are the last resorts. Good luck!!
