How similar is it to a period?

The only time I’ve had IB, it looked nothing like my period. I thought it was the start of AF and I was starting to spot. It lasted maybe 6-8 hours then nothing. And I went on to miss my period. So for me, it wasn’t even close to a normal period.

not very at all, from what I've seen on here by people who have confirmed pregnancys after having IB, it kind of looks like light pink sometimes light brown (as it's old blood by the time it exits the vagina) tinged cervical mucus. which makes sense to me considering on how the cervical mucus would h what carries it out. it shouldn't be heavy, light spotting that may last 1-3 days, like you'll notice a little in your underware, or when wiping, but not a steady flow, and it happens anywhere from 6-12dpo, very unlikely to happen after. period blood is red or dark in color, it's heavy ( well depending on how your flow usually is), lasts a lot longer, happens at a different time in your cycle, and is clotty.
