middle of night feeds, any consensus on when to stop??

Question

Hello! LO will only be 5 months next week. I am starting sleep train and was wondering when is safe to stop MOTN feeds? I am curious because I am trying to stop bottle and sleep association but also don’t want her to be hungry at night. She only takes 2 ounces or less during the night on two different wake ups.  I have read if they are taking that little it is only for comfort but I know she is still little.

My LO stopped middle of the night feedings at 3 weeks old. I let him tell me when he’s hungry. And he’s been doing so since then. At 3 weeks old he was sleeping from 11pm-530 am and now at 5 months old he sleeps 930pm-630/7 am.

If she's eating that little than I would agree it's just comfort and/or habit. I would personally cut them out completely. You could always try cutting one for a few nights and then cutting the last one also so at least it's a gradual adjustment. If LO has already been sleeping through without eating than they're fine to keep doing so. Consistency is key! I have not had to night feed either of my kids from 5 weeks old. We never hit a sleep regression with my first, and she never was bothered by teething. (I hit the jackpot with her) but my second went through a few night stint of waking at exactly 4 am every night and I would just put her paci in and she'd go right back to sleep. It lasted 4 days and she stopped.

Mine started night feedings again during this sleep regression, but I’m thinking of cutting them out. She’s barely eating, and it’s not doing anything to keep her sleeping, in fact all it does is wake her up and get her jazzed up.

My daughter hasn’t had a middle of the night bottle since she was 5 weeks old. She’ll be 5 months on the 28th. She sleeps 100% through the night 8pm to 7am 🙌🏻 everyone feel differently about it. Our daughter slept through the night randomly one night when she was 4 weeks old so I jumped on that opportunity and sleep trained. When she woke up, I’d give her a paci and rub her head until she fe back to sleep rather than immediately picking her up and feeding her. I don’t pick her up at all and nowadays all it takes is handing her a paci to put her back to sleep.
