When did you start dilating??

I'm 35 weeks and dilated 1 cm. I feel like that's to early to he dilated... When did you start dilating and effacing???

Don’t worry, it’s not too early at all! Dilation is not an indicator of when labor will come, it’s really not important until you’re in active labor, which is why a lot of doctors don’t even check anymore.

Is this your first pregnancy?
My 1st: Water broke at 40 weeks, I was 2cm when I got to the hospital
2nd: I was 4cm when I got to the hospital at 40 weeks. They broke my water
3rd, 4th & 5th (triplets): I was 3cm at 32 weeks and had them at 34 weeks. But it's different since they are multiples.
I am 36 weeks now and curious to see what I am dilated to on Wednesday.

last week I wasnt dialated at all but 10% effaced. I go this Thursday for my 36 weeks apt n growth scan. hopefully I have progressed. fingers crossed

i have been 1 cm 0 thinned since week 35, currently 37 and 2 days.  and i have alot of braxton hicks and sharp pains in my crotch. dr was suprised i had dilated more at 37 weeks. baby #4

I went 4 days ago for my appointment and I was 35+1 and also dilated 1 cm. Hoping for more progress this Wednesday!

You can begin dilating Weeks before labor. You can be at 3-4 for quite some time and stay there. Most women dilate to a 1 or 2 many weeks before and that’s normal. It’s also normal to stay closed completely until it’s showtime. All are normal and no indication of when labor will begin. All it says is where you are currently, not at all where you could be in a few weeks or even a few hours.

At 36 weeks I was a 1 and 70%. Same at 37 weeks.
