Losing Weight for Weddings
I've always been fat. I started eating whatever I wanted at age 10 and the weight packed on. Over the last 16 years I've fluctuated from size 16 at my smallest to size 24 at my biggest.
I'm about to get married. I have 6 months to go. I never wanted to lose weight just for the dress. I always thought it was vain when brides did that and I worried that my family would see me the same way. I was also afraid of losing weight because I didn't want to hear the compliments I was bound to receive. I don't think I should be complimented for how I look, when I was always beautiful inside. It actually makes me angry to hear people say "You look good!" Not that they're saying it yet...I'm still fat. I'm 6 feet tall and 338 pounds. I have only lost 7. But my turning point came when I saw that scale say 344 pounds. That's the highest I've ever seen it go and I was really afraid it would get higher. That number, plus the fact that I developed PCOS, sleep apnea, and pre-diabetes. I knew it was a imperative that I change. So this is the beginning of my journey. I'm losing weight 6 months before my wedding, not because of my vanity, but because my life depends on it. Here I go!
