SN

I am 36 weeks pregnant. And baby hiccups a lot in the womb, read somewhere it could be cord related problem.

Has anyone experienced the same and if it is normal

It's from practice breathing and the more they have them the better news for their lung development.

I read the same google article. Damn google. Mentioned it to Dr & Midwife. Both said this is a great sign of a healthy baby. Still getting them at almost 38 weeks!

It doesn’t hurt to ask your dr if you are worried at all, go with you gut! I was getting them multiple times a day for weeks and was stressed, it put my mind at ease once they told me it was perfectly normal :)

I did the same thing and commuted the ultimate sin of checking with Dr Google when baby had hiccups 7 times in 24 hrs. Of course I then panicked about the cord thing too and called my OB. After two nurses and my OB all said it's fine I was able to chill out. Your baby is likely fine, but if you're ever freaking out just call your actual doctor. Online stuff often just create more anxiety for me!

My baby hiccuped alllll the time and nothing was wrong with his cord. Don’t look too much into it! Relax and enjoy the last bit of pregnancy!

I just read this too and when I asked my Dr about it she just shook her head and said that it has nothing to do with it. Makes me feel a little better at least. I was freaking out!

It's normal. My daughter (12yo) hiccuped almost daily. It's just the baby practicing breathing. I gave birth to a happy healthy baby girl who hasn't stopped talking yet.
