Stripping membranes?

I’ll be 37 weeks tomorrow and I have been trying everything to get labor started naturally (my baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead) has any one else’s OBGYN stripped their membranes this early?

I’m 38 weeks went 4 a sweep yesterday as I’m being induced on the 29th and my cervix was still closed but easy 2 find so the midwife massaged it and ever since I’ve been losing my mucus plug and having leg cramps so it must b doing something, I wouldn’t say it was painful though just uncomfortable.

Mine offered at 38 weeks but I'm declining. I had it with my other two and it didn't do crap! And it hurt in my opinion!

My dr will do mine at 38 weeks. I’m so nervous but want to try that before induction. I went naturally with my daughter at 38+5, but I have moved and now live quite far from my hospital so my dr wants my birth to be more “controlled” for lack of a better word. She’s going to do my sweep on a Wednesday and induce on Friday if nothing happens. I’ve got 2 weeks til the sweep and last week I was already softening and thinning well and 1 cm dilated.

my doctor wouldn't do it until 39 weeks

Got mine stripped at exactly 39 weeks with my first. But doc warned me that it may not induce labor bc I was only 1cm dilated, cervix was still high and barely effaced.  I had some contractions and lost mucus plug that day, but no baby. Ended up getting it done for the third time at 40weeks, and at that time, I was 3cm dilated and 75% effaced I believe. So the previous sweeps did help slowly move it along. Had the baby next day! My doctor said you have to be in the right window/condition for it to really jumpstart labor. Like others commented though, it hurt like crazy. 😳

Did it with my 1st at 38 weeks .. It hurt sooo bad and I had my baby boy next morning

I had it done with my first baby. Twice, and all I got was some cramping a few hour of contractions and then nothing. Doesn’t hurt to try but didn’t work for me!

mine said she would do it as early as 37 weeks if I was dilated at all. I'm nervous.
