Should I be upset?

I’ve been talking to this guy for over a year. About a month and a half ago we started going out twice every weekend because we live like an hour and a half away from each other. We had plans for today but he cancelled on me because his dad works at Minute Maid Field and he got tickets to game 7 of the Astros Yankees game that could get the Astros into the World Series. He’s a huge Astros fan. I’m a little hurt but at the same time I get this is a big game. Also we won’t be able to see each other next weekend cause he’s in the National Guard and has training all weekend. Should I be upset?

As a married woman, my husband would sell my soul for tickets to the Astros vs Yankees game. 
Okay he wouldn’t sell it, but he’d ditch me for sure ;) Don’t take it personally!

I understand that you're upset and I'm sure I would have been upset too but don't put him in the dog house. You won't always get to be together and plans will fall apart somtimes. That's just life

I had an ex that was “severely” into hockey. It was his major weakness, you have to accept it or not as long as it doesn’t seem like you feel you are always the only one making concessions around that. Since you guys are not officially a couple, I understand your disappointment but I wouldn’t call it a deal breaker unless this becomes a regular thing.
