I am thinking of coloring my hair at home.. is it a good idea??

I am thinking of coloring my hair at home. Please suggest is it a good idea?? Also suggest good color brands.

I have always coloured my hair at home its easy really. Im naturally brunette but dye it blonde. I've never used bleach though I just use extra lightening dyes and its gradually gotten lighter. You just have to make sure all the hair is covered thoroughly in dye. Maybe try to avoid a big change in colour at first so you can practise without worrying. 🙂
And I've used a few but my favourites are garnier nutrisse dyes.

It depends on what you’re wanting to do. I color my hair at home all the time only bc I can’t justify paying $100 for something I can do at home for $60. But I also went to school for it and just never used my license. But I wouldn’t recommend boxed dyes they never turn out how you want them too and realistically they use the lowest volume of developer so if you’re going for a drastic change or highlights it might be a little hard. If you have a beauty depot or a Sally’s I would recommend going there and trying the ion products
