Is there something wrong with me?

Ever since I can remember I have neevvvverrrr had a normal period. When I got my first one, I didn’t get another one for a year (that might be normal, idk???)
But naturally, I only have 5-6 periods a year and when I do they are so unbearable. I’ve looked into like PCOS and other things it could be. My family/co workers believe I might have a thyroid issue. Could that affect my period?
I know I’m not pregnant bc I’ve taken tests as I always do since my period is so unpredictable. I honestly think my chances of ever having a child are very low just because everything is so off. But who knows lol
I’m just starting to get more concerned and was wondering if anyone has dealt with something like this?

The first part about getting your period and then not another one for a year is completely normal. Periods are wacky for a while when you first get them. 
As for the 5-6 a year, no one can diagnose you unless they are a doctor. So I’d strongly suggest speaking to one. As getting a handle on it as soon as possible is better than later. 
As for very low chances of having a child. You and I and no one else on this app can decide that. You could very well have perfect and average chances of getting pregnant when you so choose. But as said above, it’s best to speak to a doctor to determine what’s causing so few periods per year

I can’t relate with what you’re going through but it’s also good to ask a gynie about any concerns rather be safe than sorry

I can relate. My periods are all over the place. I could have 1 every 2 months or 2 in 1 month or skip for 6 months or have 1 that lasts 6 weeks straight and it was always super painful. I do have PCOS and endometriosis.

Yes your thyroid can effect your other hormones. These issues could effect your fertility or you could actually be regular for you just not a 28 day cycle and your fertility is just fine.

Only way to be sure of any of this is to see a OBGYN and possibly get your hormone levels tested or she what else they might recommend. Could be a weight issue or a sugar issue or a hormone issue or something else only a Dr would know.
