Is it okay to charge someone $30 to baby for 8 to 9 hours for each day I watch him? I don't want to overcharge but I don't want to play myself either lol the little boy is 1 1/2.

That's less than $4/hour, and you're asking someone to give up their whole day to watch your kid. Personally I wouldn't do that, it's kind of insulting.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who will pay you even minimum wage per hour, as some other people have posted, for a full day, everyday. I've paid $25/day for in-home daycare and that was really common when I called around. It will depend where you live too, but you definitely can't be more expensive than a childcare facility because parents would opt for a more managed and controlled facility if the price is the same. $30/day is reasonable.

Do you watch other children too? Many in-Home daycares in my area charge around $150-$200 per week (around $30-$40 a day) because they have other children at the house too and it all evens out to give them a decent income every month. But if you’re only taking one child in, it’s up to you to decide how much you need to make it worth it to you!

I have two families I nanny for right now. One of them pays me $22/hr for a 10 yr old. That other family pays me $18/hr for a 4 month old. Like other people are saying I would say never go below $13/hr for child care and personally I wouldn’t do it for less than $16/hr.

I used to pay my babysitter $40 for like 2 hours. Sometimes 3..... and they practically lived with me . I think that's a little low for the amount of time .
