fetal doppler?

has anyone used a fetal doppler? I'm 12 weeks and 3 days and can't find a heart beat.... I'm freaking out

I have one but I can’t reliably find a heart beat until usually 14 weeks or so. Right now I’m 11 weeks and I have to tilt my hips way down, have a full bladder, and I can still only briefly find it.

It takes a while sometimes. I bought my doppler at 8 weeks and couldn’t find anything, but I just had an US and knew baby was okay. I tried again last night at 9+6 and found it!

Sometimes it takes sitting there for twenty minutes searching around. I suggest a youtube video because that helped my distinguish the noises. Also wait until you really really have to pee.

Be sure you’re checking really low & moving the probe around in all directions. Use a good amount of gel. & Sometimes the baby’s heartbeat can mix in with your own, making it really hard to distinguish. YouTube videos helped me to distinguish the two different sounds when I hadn’t found my baby’s, yet. But when you hear it the first time, it’s unforgettable. But be patient & try not to freak out. Don’t obsess & try to limit yourself to use once a day max.
