30 Hour Birth Story 💓

Sarah 🔥 • 💔 Blighted ovum November 2016. 🌈 Rainbow Baby Girl 💗 born Oct 2017. 🤰🏽Baby Boy due 4/2020 💙

I wanted to share my birth story. My pregnancy was textbook (and after a blighted ovum 2 months prior to this pregnancy, I was so grateful). Baby girl was due October 16 - and at 38 weeks I was itching for her to get here. If she wasn’t here by her due date, my doctor was going to induce before 41 weeks. On Saturday October 14, I started to get an influx of mucus and I knew labor was coming - I could feel it. Low and behold, around 2 pm I lost my mucus plug snd it felt like something was leaking. We went to L&D; for them to check my water - and it wasn’t. I was 1 cm, regular light contractions, and no water broken. I was devastated. We were sent home and I was bawling - I went straight to our bed to lay on my left side and feel baby girl squirm around. About an hour and a half later I sat up to go to the bathroom and felt a gush. It kept coming and I knew it was my water so back to the hospital we went and sure enough it was - we were put into our L&D; room around 9 pm. By 5 am Sunday 10/15, my contractions were farther apart and getting weaker so fluid and pitocin were started. Fast forward to 12 pm and my contractions were so intense and fast I couldn’t catch my breath between and I was throwing up - so I asked for my epidural and as soon as that kicked in I was passed out and slept a few hours. Around 5 pm I was only dilated to a 4, so thinking we had 6-8 hours left we all just relaxed a little. At 8 pm I had an uncontrollable urge to either push or poop and called the nurse in immediately. I was already at a 9, almost a 10 so it was game on. I pushed, and pushed, and pushed. For hours. While throwing up and swearing with a dry mouth. The midwife on cal suggested an episiotomy because she was close but there was a muscle holding her in. One snip and one push and she was out - with a 4th degree tear. My sweet angel was grunting and eyes were open, but she was quickly swept off because she wasn’t getting oxygen. The cord was around her neck. 5 minutes later my baby was perfectly wonderful. On my chest while I was getting stitched up and already rooting. My baby was born on her due date, 10/16 at 12:29 am, 7lb 11oz, and shares a birthday with my mom (who is my best friend) and baby girl is named after my maternal grandmother. Ansley Evelyn, you are my entire world. 💓💓💓
