birth control after baby.

Kristina • BadBetchKristina

So I'll be 37 weeks on Tuesday and my Dr hasn't asked about birth control after baby arrives. Have you ladies had this conversation with your OB? I'm thinking I'd like to get my tubes tied as more babies aren't in our future plans. Any tips, pros and cons of having your tubes tied?

Well I got pregnant at 2 months PP using condoms and cycle tracking, plus I was breastfeeding. So my doctor and I talked about BC after baby at my first scan. They're going to give me the depo shot in the hospital after my son is born, and after that wears off I'm going to get Nexplanon back in. I was supposed to get the implant after my son was born but I got pregnant again before that appointment happened. I'm not trying to have three kids under 2 haha.

Natural family planning/cycle tracking and barrier method works for us.

My doctor wrote a prescription for the pill and asked if I wanted something like an implant or whatever. I declined. I honestly prefer to use condoms. To which my OB looked at me like I had nine heads..

My doctor brought it up at our last appointment. We've had a very difficult, high risk pregnancy since 15 weeks, so I think she assumed we didn't want more kids. Plus I'm almost 40. However, we are still on the fence about having another baby. The pregnancy could be much different. It could not. But it would still be worth it. All I am certain of is that my body needs a much needed break and time to recover before we try.

First time around my doc didn't bring it up at all until my 6 week postpartum appointment. Was on the pull for 2 months then missed ONE day, and happens to have sex for the first time after DS was born. Fast forward a few months and Dr. says "well, pills just aren't for you, lets look at other methods". I'm getting a tubal with my planned c-section

My doc asked me if I wanted my tubes tied during my csection, I declined as I don’t believe in that or medical birth control and told him my hubby and I will be practicing NFP. The doc I had with my first kid was Catholic so she understood and did not prescribe birth control either. I wasn’t sure how my doc would react this time but he was cool with it. I’m almost 34 and my hubby is almost 41 so I don’t think more kids are in the cards for us, but we are putting it in God’s hands.

I asked my dr about bc because they hadn’t mentioned it & he said they worry about that after baby is born.
