Sleeping with Comfort Silkie?

Question

My son will be 7 months next week. He has a Comfort Silkie which is about 12"×10" big. The company says they are breathable, but to me, not as much as a swaddle blanket. My son can army crawl and pull things off of his face. Do you think it's safe for him to sleep with the Comfort Silkie blanket?

I would say use your best judgment. I’m super paranoid so the only blanket we still allow in the crib is a knit blanket with a very open weave made by his great grandmother and he’s already 16 months. However, I know people who put blankets in the crib much younger without issues.

I think the biggest issue with a bigger blanket is it getting tangled around their neck... I think if it's too small to fit around his neck in any way it's ok. The suffocation is also more of a danger with something bigger they couldn't pull off of their face. I think it's OK since it's smaller.. definitely better than a swaddle... you can always take it out of his crib after he falls asleep for a few more months..
