How do you get baby to stay near you?
My son is NUTS. I went to a harvest festival yesterday, and everywhere there were these fabulous babies without strollers. They walked next to their parents. Meanwhile my son doesn’t walk - he RUNS. He has no fear and he doesn’t care if I am near him. He’s 18M old and has always been like this. He even says “bye Mommy” as he runs away towards whatever interesting thing he sees. I’m getting sick of taking a stroller everywhere, for the sole purpose of containing him.
How can I get him to just keep near me? When I tell him “hold my hand” and I grab his, if I am not going the way he wants to go he will throw himself on the ground and twist his wrist in the process. That forces me to let go, and he knows it. Then boom, back at it. We’re going to Disney soon and I don’t want anything bad to happen to him, I want to enjoy his first visit. How can I get him to just stick with myself and his dad?
Side note: Baby leash was a total fail.
