Using spermicide and the birth control pill

Is this an unsafe combination? Boyfriend and I both want to stop using condoms, and I’m on the pill and have been for several months. I take it on time and we plan to use a condom if I ever am late to a pill , for the rest of the pack.

So I am considering using spermicide as well, just in case. I don’t know what kind, though

Any advice is helpful, besides the “use a condom” one.
