Christmas tradition?

My boyfriend and I are looking for a fun creative Christmas tradition that will still be fun when we have children!

I'm recently divorced, but I will tell you my ex husband and mine tradition, because it was fun. 
every Christmas Eve, we would open a gift from each other. It would be pajamas, snacks, and a movie that the other would like. On Christmas Eve, we would watch one of the movies and eat the snacks, in our pajamas lol and on Christmas day, we would watch the other movie!

My mother always gives us a book, an ornament, pajamas and a calendar. We open them Christmas Eve, put the ornament on the tree, change into the pajamas and read our books together.

It's small, but every year, we get a family ornament that represents something about the year for our family. My daughter picks one out for herself too so when she's older, she has one for each year of growing up. I think it'll be a nice touch for her tree when she's decorating and can think back on it.

maybe you already do this. idk, but one of my favorite things every Christmas was going out as a family and picking out (fighting over) a live Christmas tree. then when we got home we'd have hot chocolate,  egg nog, cookies,  turn on the Christmas music and decorate the tree.  those are some of my favorite childhood memories to this day. this is my first Christmas married to my hubby. he mentioned borrowing an artificial tree from his grandparents this year. nooope. haha. 😀

My hubby and I go walking around looking at Christmas lights and drink hot chocolate every year. And watch Elf :) we will be adding more traditions as our little one is due in January but we’ve been doing these things for the last 10 christmases!

We love picking out a real Christmas tree and decorating it. We always make decorations every year... cinnamon ornaments, wood disc ones. We make hot chocolate on Christmas Eve and watch a Christmas story. We are also lighting a candle for each week for advent.
