IVF Fundraiser, right or wrong
I have a friend who started a fundraiser for her ivf fees. She started the fundraiser before her last frozen embryo transfer from her first cycle as she assumed it wouldn’t work and she would need to do another full cycle which would cost her $20,000. She had already spent $25,000. Well the embryo transfer worked! She is now 30 weeks pregnant with twins but she is still continuing on with this ongoing fundraiser. She now says “well I had to spend 25k getting pregnant and now I can’t work well pregnant because I’m having twins and twins are very expensive”. Now I think the moment she found out she didn’t require another ivf cycle she should have returned the money. I donated $200 to her next cycle that isn’t happening. I didn’t want my money going to her twins. Now...I can totally relate to her. I spent 60k getting pregnant with ivf. I know its expensive. I think 1 it’s super bad taste to fundraise for it in the first place but 2 extremely bad taste to use the money like this. She knew damn well what she was risking transferring 2 embryos. Twins was a HUGE possibility. Im offended. Do you think she should keep this fundraiser going and keep the money?
