whitehead looking things...

i got my nipples pierced almost 2 weeks ago. my left areola has these small whitehead looking things. i THINK they're Montgomery glands, but why are they visible now? sometimes they'd pop up but never like this. my right areola doesn't have them at all and if it doesn't i haven't noticed them.

is it maybe because i haven't been properly 'scrubbing' that area in the shower like i used to? it's just weird to me because they haven't been there this bad and then i get pierced and they pop up
